From july 6 to 20 Pope Leo XIV to sojourn at Papal Residence of Castel Gandolfo

Pope Leo XIV will move to the summer Papal residence in Castel Gandolfo for a period of rest, as announced by the Prefecture of the Papal Household.

He will remain in Castel Gandolfo from the afternoon of Sunday, July 6, until Sunday, July 20. The residence is under the authority of the Governorate so Sister Raffaella Petrini, President of the Governorate of the Vatican City State, along with the Secretary Generals Archbishop Emilio Nappa and Attorney Giuseppe Puglisi-Alibrandi, and the Director of the Papal Villas, Mr. Andrea Tamburelli, will have all available resources prepared for the duration of his stay.

Several events are scheduled during the Pope’s time in Castel Gandolfo. On Sunday, July 13, at 10:00 AM, he will celebrate Mass at the Pontifical Parish of St. Thomas of Villanova, and at 12:00 PM, he will lead the Angelus prayer in Piazza della Libertà, in front of the Apostolic Palace.

On Sunday, July 20, at 9:30 AM, he will celebrate Mass at the Cathedral of Albano, and at 12:00 PM, he will again lead the Angelus in Piazza della Libertà in Castel Gandolfo. In the afternoon, the Holy Father will return to the Vatican.

The Pope will return to the summer Papal residence in August: on Friday, August 15, at 10:00 AM, he will celebrate Mass at the Pontifical Parish of Castel Gandolfo, and at 12:00 PM he will lead the Angelus in Piazza della Libertà. On Sunday, August 17, at 12:00 noon, he will once again pray the Angelus in Piazza della Libertà and return to the Vatican in the afternoon.
